There are lives I can imagine without children but none of them have the same laughter & noise. (The Story People)
There’s something special about capturing moments of children. Their laughter and moments of joy are things I believe us as adults miss or don’t take enough opportunities to enjoy. These pictures weren’t even easy to take due to our location. We’ve had an abundance of mosquitoes lately and trudging through long grass didn’t quite help the situation. I have nice big scratches all over my legs to show for it, but here is my complaining. A child usually sees the adventure in it and is bound to laugh at me for all the grumbling I do.

He is serious.
What do you expect when he is Spiderman in disguise. He is slow to smile, because he has a world to protect. If only he had that Spiderman outfit he so really wanted to wear for these pictures, he would of shown you what the true Spiderman is like. (except of course there was washing involved and come on, these are his 4 year old pics, so was I gonna really let him wear Spidey in them?)
Beware…and be very, very afraid.

Can you say AWESOME prop to work with. This car was a beauty but even more sweet and adorable was this little girl.
I absolutely love her smile. I think she thought hubby and I were a little crazy trying to get her to laugh at times.
Yes, hubby was there holding the reflector! I don’t know how much he charges for his services, but he was well worth
it having an extra pair of hands.
Anyhow, nothing better than capturing a child giggling!

Seniors are so darn fun! I really wanted to play around with some lighting techniques and had my friend Becca help me with holding reflectors, umbrellas, and such!
We visited some factory areas, under a bridge, and some woods areas where beside getting eaten by mosquitos, had bats flying over our heads!
These girls were fun, sweet and beautiful!
Just a note, one is a Senior, and one was her sister, can you guess which is which?

“Whatever will be will be…” I love hats. Always have. Hats are especially useful for those lazy, don’t want to do anything with your hair type of days. They’re also classic, think Doris Day, Carmen Miranda (fruit hat), Minnie Pearl (hat with the price tag on it), and of course guys who you never see them without, Tim McGraw and Tiger Woods to name a few.
What better accessory to a photo op than with a hat!

First time shooting a motorcycle on an engagement shoot. Love the contrast between the couple’s sweetness and the boldness of the motorcycle.
I wish I would of gotten more with it, but it started to downpour and this poor guy had to drive home in the rain. Luckily, is fiance got to catch a ride in the car.
When my hubby and I were first engaged, I wish we would of had fun photos like these. We ended up having a formal photograph taken. That was years ago. I’m not telling how many though!

This beautiful girl and my friend Hannah got together to do some senior type shoots a while back. Hannah did the makeup and styling and also helped along the shoot.
I’ve know this girl (below) for almost 9 years now. She has grown up so beautiful inside and outside; what a great subject to photograph!
I had a hard time deciding on what to post, so I’ve posted a lot more than what I usually do.

As someone who has been married for more years than I care to count as it might reveal my age, I have found laughter and fun in a marriage can turn a dark storm into something peaceful. When I encounter a couple who is willing to go engage in laughter, I know there is something truly special in their relationship.

Enjoy the small moments!
What you wear to your photo shoot is just as important to how your hair is styled, whether you will smile or give me that brooding look.

But…you already knew that, right? Are you the person who takes the safe route and gets matching shirts and pants for the whole family? Or do you like to mix it up a bit?
A big part of this is to have FUN! Check out the newest fashions and invest in your photos. Complimentary colors are great and so are layers. I want you to look back years later and really appreciate the way you looked. I want future generations to value those unique moments captured of a relative, with their beautiful smile and their sense of style.
This is your investment from the beginning to end.

After my recent visit to Minneapolis, I got a big craving to do more urban shoots. I have a lot of access to nature, but cool old buildings are difficult to find, or at least I’m not brave enough to go exploring for them. I had the opportunity to meet up with this engagement couple last week and they were up for graffiti and old buildings! Of course, living in northeast Wisconsin, we got beautiful outdoor portraits too. Hope you enjoy! They were so sweet and so beautiful together!
